Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson will star in Aquaman 2 and The Lost Kingdom on December 20.

You’ve waited for almost five years, but now you’re just a few seconds away from watching the first trailer of Aquaman 2. The official title, for sure, is Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, and it picks up after the events of 2018. Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) is now the King of Atlantis. He’s married to Mera (Amber Heard), and even though his brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) is behind bars, Arthur will need his help to defeat the new villain Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).

What happens next? Director James Wan has hinted in a trailer that it can be described as nothing but an epic journey.

So, what have we told you, right? Starting with some light humor about being unemployed, building an olive branch with your brother, and ending with the madness beneath the waters of the Lord of the Rings, Aquaman, and The Lost Kingdom seems like it’s going to be quite something. But, don’t forget, the first film was quite a spectacle, and Wan deliberately made it that way.

“It’s a film that’s very close to my heart. It’s special for me, especially where we came from, where we started the first film, and where we’re going with this one,” Wan told a group of journalists this week. “For me, it really feels like The Lost Kingdom is kind of like a perfect companion to the first Aquaman. It’s kind of like two parts of the same movie. There’s no seriousness about it. There’s a family aspect to it that is very important to me and for that, you guys, you know, have Vin [Diesel] to thank for that.”

We want to thank Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, which will be showcased on December 20. We’ll get more information from the director later today.
