Asian Games 2023 Live Updates Day 1: India clinched its first medals of the day in the women’s 10m Air Rifle event as shooters Rimita, Mehuli Ghosh, and Ashi Chaukse secured the silver medal. Shortly after the first medal, Indian soldiers Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind also won the silver medal in men’s Lightweight Double Sculls. In addition, the Indian men’s eight team brought another silver medal in rowing, while Babu Lal Yadav and Lekh Ram secured a bronze medal in men’s pairs.

In the women’s 10m Air Rifle final, India’s Rimita won a silver medal, bringing the total medal count to 5. In addition, India’s women’s cricket team secured a silver medal by defeating Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the semifinals. Meanwhile, India faced a defeat in women’s table tennis, losing to Thailand 2-3 in the 16th round, while Manika Batra also lost a crucial match.
