“Rebel Moon” narrates the story of a tranquil agricultural colony on the fringes of the galaxy, threatened by the forces of the Empire and its oppressive leader, Regent Balisarius.

In the midst of this perilous colony is Korra, portrayed by Sofia Boutella, who is sent on a mission to find a mysterious young woman from the enigmatic past, a warrior from neighboring planets.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Charlie Hunnam, Jimon Hounsou, Anthony Hopkins, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Freida Pinto, Stuart Martin, Kerry Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michelle Yeoh, Alfonso Herrera, Ed Skrein, Cleopatra Coleman, Rihanna Reis, and Jenna Malone, among others.

Snyder, known for directing “Army of the Dead” for Netflix previously, has co-written the screenplay for “Rebel Moon” with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. It’s adapted from a story by Johnstad.

Film producers, along with Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah Snyder, have brought this project to life through their banner “The Stone Quarry” in collaboration with Eric Newman from Grand Electric. Bargaining with Grand Electric, Heaton, Johnstad, and Sarah Bowen work as executive producers.
