During a program commemorating martyred soldiers, a verbal clash erupted over the use of ‘slippers’.
Rivaba Jadeja joined the BJP in 2019 and became a legislator in the previous assembly elections. Poonamben has been an MP from the Jamnagar seat since 2014
In a public event on Thursday, between legislator Rivaba Jadeja from the Jamnagar North constituency of Gujarat Vidhan Sabha and Member of Parliament Poonamben Madam from the Jamnagar Lok Sabha constituency, a heated debate took place when Rivaba, who is also the wife of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, made sharp remarks towards the MP and Jamnagar’s Mayor Binaben Kothari regarding the use of ‘slippers’ while paying respects to the brave. The argument escalated to a point where Rivaba purportedly told the MP and Jamnagar’s Mayor Binaben Kothari to ‘stay within limits’.

The video of the altercation was widely shared on social media platforms, showing all three BJP allies clashing with each other. Later, Rivaba Jadeja claimed to have worn slippers while paying tribute to the brave. Even during the photo session at the event, they were seen in a verbal confrontation.
According to Legislator Jadeja, during the program honoring martyred soldiers, MP Poonamben Madam taunted her to remove her slippers and called her ‘over-smart’. Poonamben reportedly said in a loud voice that even the Prime Minister and the President do not remove slippers during such programs, but some ignorant people become over-smart. “I didn’t like her comment, so I responded with dignity,” she later told reporters.
