National Games 2023: PM Modi to Inaugurate the 37th National Games in Goa, with Participation of 10,000 Athletes
Sports A grand parade of athletes from 28 teams will take place, themed on national unity, featuring the participation of approximately 600 artists. The event will host competitions in 43 sports across 28 venues.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 37th National Games in the capital city of Panaji, Goa. This sporting extravaganza, set to run from October 26th to November 9th, will witness the participation of nearly 10,000 athletes from various sports disciplines. An Indian professional windsurfer from Goa, Katya Ida Colho, will present the torch to the Prime Minister.
Goa’s Chief Minister Pramod Sawant mentioned, “A grand inauguration ceremony lasting five hours will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, featuring prominent artists, including Sukhwinder Singh and the state’s own Hema Sardesai.” The event will include a parade of athletes from 28 teams, centred on the theme of national unity, with the participation of around 600 artists. A total of 43 sports competitions will be organized across 28 venues.
