Netflix series Scoop starring Karishma Tanna, has achieved significant wins at the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards.
“Scoop” is based on star crime reporter Jagruti Pathak (played by Karishma Tanna) of a Mumbai newspaper, who comes into the limelight after being accused of her rival Jaydeb Sen’s murder.
Karishma Tanna’s performance in “Scoop” earned the series top honors at the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards in 2023.
The Netflix series Scoop and its lead star, Karishma Tanna, clinched top honours at the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards 2023 in Busan, South Korea.
According to its official website, the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards are annual events celebrating excellence in content created for television, OTT platforms, and online media across Asia. The event is organized by the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) and the Korea Radio Promotion Association.
While “Scoop” won the award for Best Asian TV Series, Karishma Tanna, who participated in the awards ceremony, won the trophy for Best Leading Actress.
In a post on social media, the festival declared, “Congratulations to the winners of the 2023 Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards, representatives of Busan International Film Festival, which honours outstanding television, OTT, and online content across Asia. Well done!”
Hansal Mehta, who created the series alongside writer Mrunmayee Lagoo Waikul, expressed enthusiasm for the victory.
“Scoop” is a highly acclaimed Hindi-language series, directed by Mehta, and it premiered on Netflix in June. Supported by Indian production banner Matchbox Shots, the show is inspired by Jigna Vora’s life, based on the book “Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison.”
The Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards 2023 took place on October 8 at the BIFF Theater, Busan Cinema Center, during the Busan International Film Festival, which runs from October 4 to October 13.
