Rohit, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, played a blistering innings of 98 runs in just 71 balls, helping India build a significant lead of 183 runs in their first innings.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma continued to lead from the front and scored his third fifty-plus score in consecutive innings against the West Indies, achieving his fastest Test century.

Under the leadership of Mohammed Siraj, the Indian bowlers put pressure on the West Indies in both their middle and lower order. On the fourth day, Rohit completed his fifty in just 35 balls.

Rohit, in partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal, played a rapid innings of 98 runs in 71 balls, allowing India to establish a lead of 183 runs in their first innings. In terms of the run-rate (8.28) during the early stages, he was second only to Marcus Threscothick and Michael Vaughan (10).

In the current Test series’ scoring chart, the Indian captain is only behind his opening partner, who scored a century in the first Test in Dominica, making it his second Test century away from home.

Prior to this, on the fourth day, Mohammed Siraj registered his second Test half-century – his first came after his heroics in the 2021 Gabba Test. Mukesh Kumar, who debuted for India, also took two wickets. Ravindra Jadeja also joined the party, and along with his long-time spin partner Ravichandran Ashwin, took another wicket successfully.
