On this day in 2007, Yuvraj Singh smashed six sixes in a single over bowled by Stuart Broad during the inaugural match of the ICC T20 World Cup when India faced England.
Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh shared a video on Instagram today to commemorate the day when he hit six sixes in an over, sixteen years ago during a match. The video was created by sand artist Father Christy Villiavelat. The video captures the unforgettable moment that occurred during the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 when India faced England in Durban.
During the match, Singh’s incredible batting skills were on full display. He hit six consecutive sixes in the 19th over bowled by Stuart Broad. But he didn’t stop there. He achieved the fastest fifty in T20 International cricket, scoring 50 runs in just 12 balls. During his innings of 58 runs off 16 balls, Yuvraj Singh smashed three fours and seven sixes, six of which came off consecutive deliveries from Stuart Broad.
“Thank you @christy_sandartist12 for this lovely sand art. While you’ve made it for my birthday, today is also an apt occasion for me to share it. #16Years #SixSixes,” Yuvraj Singh wrote on Instagram alongside the video.
Yuvraj Singh shared the sand art video an hour ago. It has already been viewed over two lakh times and is still receiving likes and comments.
