Unlike the latest Apple iPhone 15 or Galaxy S23 series, smartphones from the Google Pixel 8 Phone series are not manufactured in India
The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are now official. While the company has set similar price tags in markets like the United States, the latest Google phones have become considerably more expensive in India.
The price of the Pixel 8 is 75,999 rupees, and the Pixel 8 Pro is priced at 106,999 rupees. If you plan to buy any of these phones, it might be helpful to consider purchasing them from outside India for a better deal. However, they may be available at slightly lower prices with bank offers and additional exchange discounts.

In the previous generation, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were priced at 59,999 rupees and 84,999 rupees, respectively. This year, their successors have seen a significant increase in prices in the Indian market. Unlike the latest Apple iPhone 15 or Galaxy S23 series, smartphones from the Google Pixel 8 Phone series are not manufactured in India; they are imported from China, which incurs an additional 18% import duty. This could be a significant factor in the price hike.

Regarding price, Google Pixel 8 series smartphones are the most expensive in India compared to other parts of the world. In fact, in Canada, you can purchase the Pixel 8 Pro for a price slightly higher than that of the Pixel 8 in India.
In the UK, the price of the Pixel 8 is approximately the same as in India. However, in Japan, the Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8 are slightly cheaper. There is currently no official information about the Pixel 8 series prices in markets like Dubai, Thailand, and Vietnam. Based on the prices of the previous generation Pixel smartphones, they are likely to be more affordable in India compared to the official prices.
